We finally made it to Alona Beach in Panglao island in Bohol. We stayed for a week at Paragayo Resort, which was clean and inexpensive. We checked out the apartment that we were going to rent for a month. We quenched our thirst with a buko for each of us, which was nice of the caretaker. Our day consisted of walking, transportation using the public jeepney and tricycle. On our way back to Paragayo,
we took the tricycle thinking that we would get a deal out of it. To no avail, the tric had a flat tire (perhaps it was our combined weight). So we decided to walk and do scenic tours. Fortunately a 
private van which was headed to Alona offered us a lift. We got lucky (otherwise it would have been a five hour hike)!
